Bedie Boyd Obituary

Mrs. B. Elizabeth Boyd was born in Langston, AL to the late Sam Boyd and Mary Elizabeth Doss on Feb. 16, 1936. She departed this life on Sunday May 27th 2018 at Cloverdale Manor Nursing Home. Mrs. Boyd joined church at an early age under the pastor of M.C.M Harris at St. Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church. Mrs. Boyd loved to attend church and didn’t like to miss any Sunday. Mrs. (Liz) Boyd was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Jessie J. Boyd, Calvin Walker, the father of her children; her son, Robert Doss; daughter, Darria Dillard; sisters Mrs. Louise Moore, Mrs. Dessie Ellison, and Mrs. Hazel McCamey; brothers, Mr. James Doss, Mr. Leroy Doss, Mr. Sam Doss, Mr. Hubert Doss, and Mr. John Doss; grandchildren, Mr. Al bibs and Ms. Penni Fennell. Mrs. Elizabeth leaves to cherish her memories; daughters, Mrs. Dianne (Jerry) Graham of Scottsboro and Mrs. Keno (Tyrone) Moore of Dothan AL; son, Calvin (Sharon) Walker Doss of Huntsville; daughter in law, Ruby Lee Doss of Scottsboro; son in law, James Dillard of Scottsboro; sisters, Mrs. Daisy Poe of Scottsboro, Mrs. Joyce Cox of N-Augusta South Carolina; grandchildren, Tyrone , Allen, Erin, and Justin Bibbs of Scottsboro; Scherrie Grayson of Dothan, Marcus, Keion, Blake, and Maria Doss of Scottsboro, Stephanie Doss of Huntsville, Jamaal and Maurice Doss of Scottsboro, Telly Doss of Scottsboro, and Raven Johnson of Georgia; a host of great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren as well as a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and family. Mrs. Boyd loved these women and men like they were her children; Gail Calloway, Carolyn Fennell, Ed Fennell, David Grayson, Rev. Gary Dixon, Rev. Richard Townsend; best friend, Karene (Granny) Nichols. Mrs. Boyd always said that when she leaves this old world, she was going to a better place. Mrs. Boyd worked hard all her life starting in the cotton field, shook laundry, Burlington Mill, Ballet Fabric, Field Crest, and retired at Goodyear.
