Edna Ruth Travis

Edna “Ruth” (McGaha) Travis age 89 of Scottsboro, Alabama, passed away on Sunday November 18, 2018. Ruth was born September 3, 1929 and raised in Jackson County. Ruth married Robert “Ed “Travis and moved to northwest Indiana to raise their family. They returned to Jackson County after retiring in 1984. Ruth is survived by her sons George T. Travis of Highland, Indiana and Robert D. Travis ( Barbara) of Casa Grande, Arizona; daughters Donna (Eugene) Dernulc of Palm Harbor, Florida; Wanda ( Warren) Brandon of Lebanon, Tennessee and Patricia (Douglas) Potter of Scottsboro, Alabama. Survivors also include 18 grand-children; 47 great grand-children and 9 great – great grand-children. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years Robert E. Travis; 2 sons James and Ronald Travis. Her parents William and Velma McGaha; daughter in law Patricia Camperman Travis, her mother–in law and father– law George and Myrtle Travis; her great grand-daughter Heaven Leeann Wakefield; grandson Michael Dernulc and her sister Mary Knight and brother William F. McGaha. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 3-8 at the Valley Funeral Home, 674 Snodgrass Rd. Scottsboro, Alabama 35769. The funeral will be Wednesday November 21, 2018 at 1 PM. Burial will be at the Travis Family Cemetery Skyline, Alabama
