Fred Whiddon

Fred Whiddon age 82 of Scottsboro passed away October 28, 2019. Mr. Whiddon was born May 7, 1937 in River Falls Alabama. He married the love of his life, Barbara Barrow and went into the Airforce and stayed for 8 years. He got out of the Airforce and moved to Huntsville AL in 1964 and went to work for IBN in the transportation department. He started a moving company in 1976 called Dixie Moving and Storage and his son and daughter have been running it for the past 10 years. He is survived by his daughter, Tina Littleson; son, Scot (Karen) Whiddon; grandchildren, Jessica Kootsouradis and Alexandra (Jason) Somrak; great granddaughter, Abigayle Mae Somrak. He was preceded by his wife, Barbara Mims Whiddon; parents, Fred and Voncile Whiddon. Visitation will be on Friday from 1-2 and the funeral service will be 2 PM Friday November 1, 2019 from the Valley Funeral Home Chapel in Scottsboro. The family requests in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer Foundation.
