James “Jim” Ashburn age 75 of Scottsboro passed away April 4, 2019. Jim was a loving, caring man, someone who would give you the shirt off his back. He loved his family and friends dearly. He was a husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He leaves behind his best friend, caregiver, and companion, Dianne Foster Ashburn; daughters, Gwen Ford and Cindy Ashburn Hawthorne (Jimmy Samples); granddaughter, Kelly Kent; great grandson, Emmett Kent; nephew, Mike (Debbie) Ashburn. He leaves behind a host of friends and loved ones; 2 sister in laws, Mary Beth Foster Clark (Kipp Clark) and Becky Foster. He loved to raise a vegetable garden. He loved visiting the Amish Community in Ethridge, TN. He loved wagon rides and horses. On a pretty day, you might see him traveling a city street or a country road with his horse and wagon. He was a dedicated off-the-road fuel truck driver. He attended Broad Street Church of Christ and Larkinsville Church of Christ. He trusted and had faith in Jesus Christ. He was preceded by his parents, Robert and Alma Woosley Ashburn; brother, Ed (Pearline) Ashburn; brother in law, Mike (Dollie) Foster; sister in law, Karen Foster Weaver. The family wishes to thank Amedisys Home Health and Hospice and Elder Care. The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Dianne. Visitation will be on Thursday from 5-8 and a graveside service will be held on Friday April 5, 2019 at the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Scottsboro. Elder Brad Wilhelm will officiate.
