On the evening of December 26, 2018, the community of Bridgeport lost a kind, helpful, and caring man, Jimmy Lee McComb. An all-round good man, he was willing to help out a neighbor. This is the lasting impression that Jimmy Lee made and left on this world. He was born on December 19, 1960 in Bridgeport, Alabama to the late Ollie and Bernice McComb. He graduated from Bridgeport High School in 1978. At an early age, he confessed Christ as his Savior. In his youth, he was a talented basketball player. As a young man, in 1979, he joined the Army Reserves and served until 2000. During his lifetime, he was a loyal employee of Jacobs Manufacturing. His life’s pleasures were simple. Jimmy enjoyed fishing, hunting, listening to music and spending time with family and friends. He always had a smile to greet you. He loved Alabama (Roll Tide) Football Team. His parents, Ollie and Bernice McComb, grandparents, Husie and Tressie Allison and Sam and Magie McComb, and host of uncles and aunts preceded him in death. He leaves to cherish his memories brothers: Charles Chatman of Huntsville, (AL); Oliver McComb Jr. and Bobby McComb of Bridgeport, (AL); host of nieces and nephews; special and devoted friend; Lori Ellis of Stevenson, (AL); very special and dedicated friend; Anna Robinson of South Pittsburg, TN; special family; The Smith Family of Bridgeport,(AL).
