Thomas Edward Spurgeon

Thomas Edward Spurgeon age 82 of Scottsboro passed away July 20, 2019. He was a US Marine Corps veteran and a lifelong member of the VFW and American Legion. Mr. Spurgeon was survived by wife, Mary Ellen Spurgeon; children, Terry (Howard) Hoggard, Pam (Tim) Raymer, Cindy (Steve) Guss; step children, Kathy Soares, Michael Murphy, Correna Weas, Patrick Murphy, and John Murphy; grandchildren, Jennifer Cousins, Jessica (Travis) Lindsay, Sara (Miles) Tripp, Brenda Guss, Erica Foreman, and Erin (Russell) Dasche, Jessica Stimpor, T.J. Soares, Jeffree Murphy, David Murphy, Sean Murphy, Correna Murphy, Angela Murphy, Joshua Murphy, Patrick Murpy, Ryan Murphy, Jaimey Murhpy, Michael Murphy; many Great Grandchildren; brother, Charles Spurgeon; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his step son, Thomas Murphy; grandson, Ryan Hoggard; siblings, Rose McEniry, Helen Schmutte, and Johnny Loyal. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2-8 at Valley Funeral Home in Scottsboro and the funeral will be 2 PM Wednesday July 24, 2019 at the St Jude Catholic Church in Scottsboro. Burial will be in the Pinehaven Memorial Gardens
