Bettye Sue Thompson age 80 of Scottsboro passed away April 24, 2024. She is survived by her daughter, Regina (Chris) Douglas; son, Alan (Amanda Ake) Thompson; grandchildren, Alyssa and Madison Steeley, Sierra and Tyler Butcher, and Zack and Macey Kirk; great grandchildren, Karson Butcher, Wyatt Butcher, and Maicyn Kirk; several nieces, nephews, friends, and family members and her wonderful church family at Goosepond Church of God. She was preceded by her parents, Delbert and Esther Mae Hastings; husband, John L. Thompson; sisters, Mary Lou Wininger, Annie Ruth Parker, Deola Jeffery, and Caroline Ferguson; brothers, J.D., Rachel, Jimmy Ray, and Buddy Hastings. Visitation will be Thursday from 4-8 and the funeral will be 2 PM Friday April 26, 2024 from the Valley Funeral Home Chapel in Scottsboro. Burial will be in the Trenton Cemetery in Trenton AL.
