Bill Bryant Obituary

Billy Wayne Bryant, age 73 of Hollywood, passed away peacefully in his home on Wednesday, July 23, 2025. Known to many and loving referred to by his grandchildren as “Sugarbear,” Bill, above all things, loved Jesus, his family and his farm. In 1972, Bill married the love of his life, Andrea, and would go on to share 52 wonderful years of marriage together. Their love lives on in the hearts of their children, grandchildren and great-grandchild who serve as a reminder that just as God promised, love never fails and always perseveres. Bill was a sixth-generation farmer who he dedicated his life to nurturing the land his family had worked for decades. With calloused hands and a kind heart, Bill lived his life by example, showing the value hard work, integrity, and investing in the things built to last – roots, relationships, and the traditions that time can’t erode. Bill’s legacy is deeply rooted in the soil he tended and the family he grew on his farm. Alongside his wife, Bill was a devout member of Mud Creek Baptist Church. His dedication and contributions to the church were instrumental in helping it to grow into a place of worship, welcome, and hope. Bill is survived by his wife, Andrea Kay Bryant; brother Charles Bryant; daughters Alyson (Chris) Gulley and Lindsey (Joe) Bryant-Smith; grandchildren Krystina Jackson, Courtney (Judd) Powell, Kaitlyn (Jack) Madden, Lyndi and Logan Elliott, CJ and Jace Gulley, and Grant and Kristen Smith; and his great-grandson Baker Madden. Bill joins in heaven his parents, Neal and Ethel Bryant; grandparents, Neal Sr. and Velma Bryant, and Bill and Myrtle Swearingen. The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 26th at Valley Funeral Home in Stevenson from 5pm to 8pm. On Sunday, a service will be held at Mud Creek Baptist Church beginning at 2pm with Dr. James Jeffrey and Dr. Dustin Henshaw officiating. A short visitation will be held at church for one hour preceding the service. Bill will be laid to rest at the Bryant family farm cemetery. The family would like to give a special thanks the Crestwood ALS Clinic and the members of Mud Creek Baptist Church for the kindness, care and compassion they provided Bill and his family during these difficult times. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Bill’s honor to Mud Creek Baptist Church or The ALS Association: Crestwood ALS Clinic, 610 Airport Road, Suite 100, Huntsville, Alabama 35801.Ultimately, Bill’s legacy will live on in the fields he loved and the hearts of those who knew him. Bill’s family asks that you remember, today and every day, to appreciate God’s blessings to us and as always, thank a farmer.
