Billy Wayne "Bill" Riddle, 85, entered Heaven on June 13, 2024. He passed away peacefully at his home in Bridgeport, Alabama. Billy Wayne was born on August 24, 1938, in Italy, Texas to H.R. (Teddy) and Virgie Moore Riddle. He attended Italy schools and was a member of the class of 1956 at Italy High School, where Billy Wayne was a star football player for the Italy Gladiators. Bill proudly served in the U.S. Air Force from 1957-1960 stationed at Lookout Mountain Air Force Station in Chattanooga, TN as a Radar Operator. He met the love of his life, Joyce Ridley, while in the service and they were married on April 18, 1958, in South Pittsburg, TN. The couple were married for 63 years, Joyce preceded Bill in death on March 16, 2021. They had one son, Randy Riddle. Mr. Riddle served as a Little League Baseball coach, as well as Cub Scout Den Father when his son was young. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge for 53 years and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for 51 years. Bill served as the Grand Sentinel 1982-1983 and as Worthy Grand Patron 2008-2009. Billy Wayne worked at Siskin Steel in Chattanooga for 23 years, before retiring from that company. Billy was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Joyce, brother, C.L. Riddle, and sister, Elizabeth Reynolds. His survivors are his son, Randy Riddle, three nieces, four grand nieces, five nephews, and four grand nephews. A memorial service will be held to honor Mr. Riddle on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at the Valley Funeral Home in Stevenson, AL from 2:00 - 3:30 p.m.
