Dana McBee

Kimberly Dana McBee, of Stevenson, Alabama, passed away on Monday, April 23, 2023, after a month-long illness resulting from MRSA infection in her spinal column. Dana was born on August 7, 1967, to George William and Jane Coffman McBee at North Jackson Hospital in Stevenson, Alabama. After Dana graduated from Stevenson High School in 1985, she went on to study at Chattanooga State Community College, Chattanooga, TN. Dana worked twelve years at the State of Tennessee Department of Human Services, Chattanooga, Tennessee. At her passing she was employed by Highlands Medical Center in Scottsboro, Alabama working in Admissions. Dana has two sons: Timothy Andrew (Cora) Bowlin and Tyler Anthony Bowlin. Dana was predeceased by her father, George W. McBee and Stepson, Kyle Alexander Bowlin. She is survived by her mother, Jane Stump, Stepfather: Mark White, Sister: Bethany Kidd (Jerry Grant), three Grandsons: Matthew (Matt) Bowlin, Andrew (Drew) Bowlin both of Deckerville, MI and Alex Bowlin of Portland, TX and one Granddaughter, Keyli Alexus Figiel, Charlotte, North Carolina. Also, Dana leaves many, many cousins, church family, neighbors, and friends, as well as long-time friends from Tennessee Human Services, and work family from Highlands Medical Center. Dana loved working at Highlands in Admissions, it made her feel needed and she loved all the people who worked in her department. It’s said, ‘if you love your job, you’ll never work a day in your life.’ That’s exactly how she felt. When Dana found Highlands Admissions, she found her forever place and forever friends. Visitation is set for Saturday, April 29th, 2023, 5:00 - 8:00 p.m., Funeral will be held Sunday, April 30th at 2:00 p.m. Valley Funeral Home, Stevenson, Alabama is in charge of arrangements. Honorary Pall Bearers: Clinton Coffman, Matthew Coffman, Matt Bowlin, Drew Bowlin and Scotty Yell. After much thought and consideration, the family chose Cremation, so there won’t be a burial. We plan to secure a burial space and set a headstone later.
