Ellen Jones Obituary

The family of Letha "Ellen" Jones, 79, is deeply saddened to announce she has lost her tremendously hard fought battle with cancer. She peacefully entered the presence of her beloved Lord & Savior on the evening of Wednesday, April 5, 2023. (John 11:4) She was born on December 6, 1943 to a loving mother, Josie Mae Stewart and an adoring father James Luther Stewart of Fish Trap Road, South Pittsburg, TN. She grew up on the family farm with her sister Barbara Jean Stewart Bradford. Her parents and sister were waiting to welcome her into Paradise. (1Thessaloinains 4:17) She attended and graduated from South Pittsburgh High School where she enjoyed her studies as well as basketball. (Proverbs 9:10) She is survived by the following: Her husband of 58 years DW "Doc" Jones Sr. who gave her a bonus son, DW Jones Jr and wife Lisa through whom God saw fit to further bless Ellen with 2 bonus granddaughters, Shelby and Ashley Jones as well as an additional special blessing of a bonus great granddaughter Rayley Talley all of whom she treasured. (Psalm 133) She settled with Doc in Bridgeport, and they were blessed with 2 very beloved children, which she raised in accordance with God's word. James "Paul" Jones and wife Judy, who she loved as her own daughter and who was faithfully by her side through out her entire tribulation until her last breath. (1 Corinthians 1 :13) Cynthia "Cindy" Hale and husband Brady all of whom she both dearly cherished and was devoted to. God granted Ellen a very beloved grandson, Caleb Murray and a beautiful great granddaughter Makenna Murray, that she loved and adored and a bonus grandson Brandon Hale. (3 John 1:4) She was a devoted member of Snow Ford 2nd Advent Church and a huge fan of the Alabama Crimson Tide Football Team. Throughout all of her struggles in life, small or great, she never lost her faith. She was a devout follower of scripture and Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, in Who's loving arms she can finally rest. (1 Corinthians 2:9) The family would like to add a special thanks to the 4th floor West Wing nursing staff of Parkridge Main for all the care and compassion shown to us during this difficult time. They would also like to thank Dr. Holland for his unwavering determination in the care of our beloved Mother and wife.
