Oscar Frank (Hoby) Cobb Sr. Was born on February 15, 1946 to the late Lewis Charles Cobb and Mary Marie Harris Cobb. On Friday morning May 23, 2025 surrounded by his loved ones he left his Earthly home to go on to his Heavenly home. He married his high school sweetheart Leona on October 17, 1965. They were married for 59 years and was blessed with 3 children from this union. He worked at the Five and Dime store, Avondale, Revere and Norandal in Scottsboro, AL. He served for many years as President of the Jackson County Branch of the NAACP. He was always ready and eager to help anyone and everyone in their time of need. He loved riding his motorcycle and looked forward to riding in the Trail of Tears each year. He was President of the Sky Riders motorcycle club. He was a faithful member of White Rock Primitive Baptist Church where he served as President of the Deacon Board until his health started failing him. He is survived by his wife: Leona Stevens Cobb; Children: Marie (Kermit) Matthews, Frank Cobb Jr., Chad Cobb Sr.; Grandchildren: Matt Cobb, Simone Cobb, Christy Ward, Dexter (Harlee) Eldridge, Melvin Hutchins, Jr., Shanele (Ryan) Grammer, Chad Cobb Jr., Terence Reid; Great Grandchildren: Jaila, JaKara, Tavion, Aniyah, Taj’ia, Zy’Anna, Dawson, A’Maree, Burklei, Oaklee, Ezekiel, Tayven and Willow. Brother: Charles Cobb; Sisters: Linda (Elijah) Robinson, Betty (Joe) Hutchins; Sister-In-Law: Linda Cobb; Aunts: Hazel Clarke and Bernice Harris; a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Lewis Charles Cobb and Mary Marie Harris Cobb; Father and Mother-In-Law: Harvie Stevens Sr. and Idella Stevens; brother, Raymond Cobb; Sister-In-Law: Martha Cobb. Visitation will be Thursday from 5-8 and the funeral will be 2 PM Friday May 30, 2025 from the Valley Funeral Home Chapel in Stevenson.
