George "Johnny" Shavers

George “Johnny” Edward Shavers, Sr. passed away May 14, 2023. He is survived by his daughter, Robin (James) Sampley; son, George Shavers Jr.; grandchildren, Casi Kirk, Madyson Sampley, Gunner Sampley, Callie (Justin) Smart, Shelby (George) Gass, Amanda (Lawrence) Cook, Tiffany (Mitchell) Mabe, and Whitney Sampley; 10 great grandchildren; sisters, Carol Coffman and Shirley Luce; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his parents, James Russell and Suzie Jane Shavers; wife, Brenda Carol Shavers; siblings, Billy, Ernie, and Jimmy Shavers, Gwendolyn Dawson, JoAnne Qualls, and Patricia Cagle. Visitation will be Thursday from 3-8 and the funeral will be 2 PM Friday May 19, 2023 from the Valley Funeral Home Chapel in Stevenson. Burial will be in the Mt Carmel Cemetery with Bro. Joel Shiflett officiating.
