Gladys Faye Thompson born July 11, 1943 passed away July 2, 2023 at the age of 79. She is survived by her daughters, Wanda Farrar, Sherry Roach, and Belinda Smotherman; sons, Richard Thompson, Brian Thompson, and Jordan Thompson; granddaughters, Amanda, Ashley, Morgan, Madison, and Ambrea; grandsons, Bobby, T.J., Timmy, Chris, Little George, and Josh; great grandsons, Gabe, Lucas, Lincoln, and Jack; sisters, Martha Thompson and Shirley Leverette; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded by her husband, George “Sonny” Thompson; parents, Clayborn and Bessie Allen; daughter, Juanita Thompson; brothers, Robert and Orion “Sonny” Allen. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-8 and the funeral will be 2 PM Thursday July 6, 2023 from the Valley Funeral Home Chapel in Stevenson. Burial will be in the Price Cemetery with Anthony Airks officiating. “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge will give to me on that day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing.”
