With deep love and grateful remembrance, we celebrate the life of James Howard Allison, a devoted man of faith, family, and service. He was born in Bridgeport, Alabama on December 21, 1950 and departed this world on November 17, 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred Sr. and Gladys and brothers: Fred Jr. and Richard. He leaves to cherish his memory Linda, his wife of 54 years, two daughters: Christy and Jamie, five grandchildren: Sydney, Phoenix, Daulton, Hayden and Sarah, siblings: Diane Mitchell (Harry), Ella Wilkerson (Johnny) and Buford (Darcelle) and a host of nieces and nephews (whom he hardly ever called by their correct names!). He loved the Lord with all his heart and lived out that love daily in the way he cared for others. A steadfast believer, he served faithfully as an elder at the Bridgeport Church of Christ, offering wisdom, encouragement, and compassion to all who sought his guidance. He cherished his family above all earthly things, finding joy in every gathering, every story shared, and every moment spent together. His presence brought warmth, steadiness, and laughter to those he held dear. A proud servant of his country, he dedicated his early years to the United States Navy and later continued his commitment through service in the Army National Guard. His sense of duty and honor was evident in every uniform he wore and every task he undertook. He never met a stranger. His gift for connection made everyone feel like a friend. Whether through a smile, a conversation, or a helping hand, he made people feel seen, valued, and welcomed. His life was a testament to kindness, integrity, and unwavering faith. Though he will be deeply missed, the legacy he leaves behind in his family, his church, and all who were blessed to know him will continue to shine brightly. May he rest in eternal peace in the loving arms of the Lord he served so faithfully. And ROLL TIDE! Visitation will be 12-1 and the funeral will be 1 PM Friday November 21, 2025 at the Bridgeport Church of Christ. Burial will be in the Rocky Springs Cemetery in Bridgeport.
