James Garland Tipton Sr.

James Garland Tipton Sr. age 83 of Scottsboro passed away July 14, 2020. He is survived by his wife, Gladys Tipton; children, Annette Howell, Pam (Doyle) York, Garland (Vanessa) Tipton, Phillip (Wenda) Mount, and Tim (Abby) Mount; grandchildren, Christopher, Renea, Devin, Haley, J.R., Chrystal, Justin, Christy, Nick, Tyler, and Erin; 17 great grandchildren; sister, Beatrice Wilson; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his parents, John and Lizzy Tipton; grandson, Steven Howell Jr., brother, Robert Tipton; sisters, Pearlie Owens, Viola Smith, Mary McKee, and Jewell McAbee. Visitation will be Friday from 11-1 and the funeral will be 1 PM Friday July 17, 2020 from the Valley Funeral Home Chapel in Scottsboro. Burial will be in the Gant Cemetery.
