Jerry R. Lusk “Poppy” February 27, 1946 - April 13, 2021 Jerry R. Lusk was born in Woodville, Alabama on February 27, 1946. Jerry was born and raised in Jackson County, Alabama residing in Bridgeport for more than 40 years. Jerry served his country in the Army for 6 years including service in the Vietnam War. Jerry was a truck driver who drove for several companies over the years driving both cross country and locally. “Poppy” as most of his family knew him, loved his grandchildren and was always ready with a nickname, a smile and a laugh. Poppy enjoyed getting up early and drinking his coffee, his dog “Tink”, running errands for Aloma and most of all, fishing. Jerry Lusk was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Pollie Lusk, all his sisters and brothers, one great-granddaughter, and most recently his son-in-law and fishing buddy Harold Rogers. Poppy is survived by his loving wife of 50 years Aloma Lusk, a daughter Mary Rogers, and his daughter Sheila Seale and husband Brent. Poppy also has his grandchildren Angie McCarter, Tasha & husband Chris Bishop, and Nathan Rogers. Poppy was also a loving great-grandfather to 11 great grandchildren as well as 5 great-great grandchildren. Services to honor Jerry Lusk will be held Friday, April 16, 2021 at Valley Funeral Home in Stevenson, Alabama. Visitation for friends at 1:00 pm and Funeral at 2:00 pm with graveside service to follow at Pinehaven Memorial Cemetery in Hollywood, Alabama.
