James Raymond Grider “Jimbo” of Orme, TN passed away on May 19th, 2024 after a short battle with lung cancer. Jimbo was born on March 16th, 1959 in Bridgeport, AL to the late Mack and Mary Ellen Raulston Grider. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Donnie Grider, Ron Grider, Margaret Arnold, Terry Grider and his step brother, Rusty Dover. He was also preceded in death by his father-in-law, Frank Dawson, mother-in-law, Louise Dawson and his brothers-in-law, Thomas Dawson and Billy Dawson. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Bernice Grider and by his children Stephanie (Michael) Hawkins, Lebron (Cindy) Grider, and Melanie (Matt) Buzbee. He is also survived by his 5 precious grandchildren, Morgan Hawkins, Landon Grider, Madison Hawkins, Jayden Buzbee, and Alex Buzbee; by half sisters, Joy Haley and Betsy Burnell; half brother Mark Grider, and step brother, Randy Dover. He had several in-laws, nieces, and nephews. A life long resident of Doran’s Cove and Orme, Jimbo’s favorite thing to do was to sit on his porch surrounded by his family especially his grandchildren. In the words of one of the grandchildren, “He was a good ole Papa!” The family would like to thank everyone for the food, money, and especially the prayers during these last couple of months. Since he loved to cook for his family, they will honor him by having a private family get together at a later date.
