John Davison Obituary

John Graham Davison, Jr., Eighty-Three, of Hollywood, Alabama, passed away at his home on Saturday, December 23, 2023, after a short, but brave, battle with pancreatic cancer. The oldest son of John G. and Ruth P. [Fairbanks] Davison, Sr., John Jr. was born in Springfield, Vermont, on June 6, 1940. He grew up in Andover, Vermont and attended grades one through four 11-41 at the Peaseville School and grades five through eight [5-8] at the Simonsville School in Andover, Vermont. In March of 2020, John and his wife, Doris, moved to Hollywood, Alabama, from Killeen, Texas, where they were embraced as a part of the tight knit community. John attended Center Point Baptist Church in Scottsboro, and was an active member of the Scottsboro VFW, enjoying the camaraderie and many friendships he made there. He enjoyed few things more than a good cup of coffee, mowing his lawn with military precision and taking road trips on any one of the many motorcycles he owned over the years. In his spare time. John could often be found in his garage creating wood art from simple birdhouses to much more extensive, and detailed, pieces that he often gifted to his family and friends.
