Joyce Riddle Obituary

Heaven gained an Angel on March 16, 2021. Joyce Ridley Riddle passed away surrounded by her loving family. She was a beloved wife and mother. Joyce was born May 30, 1937 to Oscar Ridley Jr. and Willie Ridley at Doran's Cove in Bridgeport, Alabama. She attended school in Bridgeport and was a member of the 1955 graduating class. In 1958 she met Billy W. Riddle of Italy, Texas and they were married April 18, 1958 in South Pittsburg, TN. They were happily married for almost 63 years. Mrs. Riddle worked for 27 years at Wheland Foundry before retiring, Joyce was a member of Order 181 OES State of Alabama. She served as Worthy Matron numerous times and was appointed Grand Representative of the State of Alabama to the states of Maryland and Minnesota. In 1988-89 she was appointed Grand Marshall of the Grand Chapter OES of Alabama. Mrs. Riddle was also a member of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, James 0. Ridley. Survivors include her husband, Bill Riddle of Bridgeport, son Randy Riddle of Maryville, Tennessee, Sister and Brother-in-Law Helen and Harold Russell of Gardendale, Alabama, Sister-in-Law Phyllis Ridley of Huntsville, Alabama as well as several nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family request contributions to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in her memory.
