Judith “Judy” Marie Hill Akin was born January 16, 1951 in South Pittsburg, TN. She has lived in Bridgeport most of her life. Judy was a graduate of Bridgeport High School and she worked various jobs throughout her life but those paled in comparison to her being a wife, mother, and homemaker. She was very kind hearted and loving. She was a giver and thoughtful, thinking of others first. She had a wonderful sense of humor and a contagious laugh. She loved her family and never met a stranger, sharing her beautiful smile with everyone. She loved Jesus and called on him to help her throughout life. Judy was survived by her loving husband of 56 years, James “Jimmy” L. Akin, Sr.; children, Lisa Pylant, James “Jimmy Lee” Akin, Jr., Kandall (Josh) Griffith, and Randall (Mandy) Akin; grandchildren who called her “JuJu” Mackenzie Pylant, Blake (Keith) Pylant, Robert (Megan) Pylant, Zoe Holder, Katie and Noah Griffith, Alexander, Savannah, Skyler, Zada, Taevyn, Kason, and Benjamin Akin; great grandson, Zackary Pylant; mother, Berneda Abbott Hill; sisters, Kay (Mike) Mustard, Mary Jo Hill, and Lanora Hill; sisters in law, Cheryl Hill and Valarie Hill; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and other family and friends. She was preceded by her father, Robert “Bob” S. Hill Sr.; brothers, Robert “Butch” S. Hill, Jr. and Gary S. Hill; grandson, Brian Andrew Pylant. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2-8 and the funeral will be 12 PM Thursday June 13, 2024 from the Valley Funeral Home Chapel in Stevenson. Burial will be in the Abbotts Chapel Cemetery.
