Kermit Grissom, 86 of South Pittsburg, TN passed away peacefully on November 23, 2022. He is survived by his wife, Sharon and children, Kermit Grissom, Jr., Karen Lankford, and Becky Forbus; four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Mr. Grissom was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Beck Grissom. A graduate of Sylacauga High School Class of 1956, where he excelled and was a “standout” in multiple sports; Mr. Grissom served in the U.S. Air Force, and was a retired heavy equipment operator for TVA Widows Creek. Kermit was a mason, a member of the Christian faith, and a friend to many. He enjoyed spending time and visiting with his 10 brothers and sisters, along with many nieces and nephews. As an avid sportsman, he could usually be found camping, fishing, golfing, or just relaxing on his porch and watching Alabama football. A “giant of a man”, with a kind and gentle demeanor; he will be missed by all whose lives he’s touched.
