Ms. Laura Jean Allen was born, in Jackson County, Alabama on July 17, 1959, to the late Worley & Beulah Savage Allen. She peacefully departed this life on December 11, 2021, in Huntsville, Alabama. “Jean” as she was affectionally called by her family and friends was the youngest of six children. She was reared in a loving Christian household. Her father would always save his “Punch” a snack from his lunchbox. She has known the LORD from an early age and used her voice to sing songs of praise. She was a graduate of Stevenson High School, in Stevenson, Alabama, and was employed in various capacities, during her working career. Laura greeted her loved ones with a smile and will be remembered for her kind and gentle spirit. She lived life to the fullest. She was an excellent softball player. Jean loved singing, dancing, and playing cards. She often opened her home to welcome loved ones and was extremely happy when she was cooking large meals for her family and friends, people raved over her fried fish and coconut cake. She is preceded in death by her parents, her son, Rafael Allen, sister Delores Allen Henry, a brother Jessie Allen and a niece, Angel Steger. Jean leaves to cherish her memories, a daughter, Dominique Allen, of Huntsville, Alabama; a sister, Margaret Jo Fletcher, South Pittsburg, Tennessee; two brothers, Rex (Lola) Allen, Riceville, Tennessee and James T. Allen, Chattanooga, Tennessee. Grandchildren, Ayden Willmon, and Arianna Gentry, of Huntsville, Alabama; an aunt, Amy Henry, Cedar Grove, Alabama; uncle, Michael Allen, Athens, Alabama; goddaughter, Justice Davis, and many special relatives and friends.
