On May 5, 2024, Sister in Christ, Leegusta Lankford was called to rest. She was born on September 24, 1930 in Stevenson, Alabama to Cindy Ella Timberlake. She became a member of Center Star Missionary Baptist Church but later in life became a member of the Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband William Lee Lankford; sons, Willie LaWayne Lankford (2019) and William Lebron Lankford (2022); father, Lewis McClendon. Sister Lankford leaves to cherish her memory, daughter, Monilisa Powell known as Mona (Lewis) Powell; a son, Tommy (Rhonda) Lankford; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
