Linda Smith Bomian, age 81 of Stevenson, formerly of Bryant, AL, passed away peacefully the morning of September 15, 2023 with her loving daughter at her side and surrounded by her family. For most of Linda’s life she was a farmer’s wife. She was the backbone of the farming family. She worked from sunup to sundown… and then some, to make the farm a successful business. With her Green Thumb she raised a beautiful garden that provided food for her family and friends. Later Linda worked for the Jackson County School Board of Education in the child nutrition program as a cafeteria worker at Bryant School. She loved the students and was always concerned about seeing that they had good food and enough to eat, even if she had to sneak a little extra onto a student’s plate, or pay from her own pocket. Linda loved her family and her influence on them will always be remembered. She was loved by all who knew her. She is survived by her daughter, Ann (Ken) Harding; grandchildren, Jeremy (Susan) Harding and Josh (Haley) Harding; great grandchildren, Cooper, Colton, Tucker, and Tatum Harding; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded by her husband, Alton Bomian; parents, Charles and Annie Smith; siblings, Ray, Thomas, and Herman Smith, Orma Allen, and Lois Stewart. Visitation will be Saturday from 5-8 and Sunday from 12-2 and the funeral service will be 2 PM Sunday September 17, 2023 from the Valley Funeral Home Chapel in Stevenson.
