Linda grew up in Stevenson AL. Born, raised, and will now be buried here. She had only one passion and it coincided with her gift, which was being a mother. So much so that there are likely very few here today who don’t already know that. Linda’s three sons were everything to her. Everything she had but more so, everything she wanted. I have little doubt most everyone here today could stand and testify that her duty and devotion to motherhood truly rivaled the Lord’s very best. Linda was a product of the old school so she only knew how to go about life one way - and that was head on. She wore her heart on her sleeve and never apologized for it. For just shy of 71 years she was a hard worker, willing to sacrifice her time and her energy whenever someone needed her. Whether it was a neighbor or one of her three sons, Linda loved people the way that God commands us to - unconditionally. If there is one thing we can learn from our dear sister here, let it be this. Love the people God gives you without asking any questions or making any excuses. Linda had a servant’s heart. If you’re here today and never got a chance to experience that from her, I’m confident you’re in the minority. Even more so, if you’re one of the cherished few who got the chance to help Linda in her journey, may God richly bless you for it because she was resolved to putting in the time and work to raise her three sons by herself. Divorced for over 30 years, she never remarried and she never complained about raising her family alone. Let me wrap up with a simple reminder. One that offers peace to everyone of us. There may be a precious family and a room full of folks hurting here today but praise God, Linda isn’t one of them. For once in her life, she isn’t hurting anymore. Not emotionally, not financially, and not physically.
