Mark Alan Parsons, 62, of Decatur, Alabama passed away Friday, July 12th. Mark was born in Alaska to parents of Merrita (Edward) Jackson of Guntersville, AL and Glenn Parsons of Knoxville, TN. Mark served in the Army and retired from the City of Decatur’s street department. Preceding him in death were his parents and wife Cynthia Parsons of Hartselle, AL. He is survived by his daughter Samantha (Douglas) Clayton of Kimberly, AL and grandchildren Sydnee, Taylor and Daphne, 2 stepsons, 2 stepdaughters as well as his sister Rhonda Gentle of Huntsville, AL and good friend Ellie Sorquist of Decatur, AL. A celebration of life will be arranged August 11th from 3-6pm at Eagles Lodge in Decatur for anyone wanting to attend.
