Mary Gladys Matthews

Mary Gladys Wiggs Mattheews was born January 12, 1957 and departed this life peacefully on Monday June 18, 2018. She was the daughter of the late Ophelia Coffey and the late Buddy Wiggs. She accepted Christ at an early age and she was a member of the White Rock P.B. Church where she served faithfully on the Usher Board and attended Sunday School every Sunday and Bible School every Tuesday night. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ophelia Coffey Robinson and Buddy Wiggs; grandparents, Harry Coffey and Mary Ann Coffey; sisters, Ella Mae Smith, Lillie Mae Moore Walker, and Johnnie Alisa Moore Johnson; nephew, Tyrone Moore; brother in law, Doug Stevens; step father, Cam Robinson; father in law, Alvin Matthews Sr.; mother in law, Sadie Mae Matthews. She leaves to cherish her memories, husband, Alvin Matthews Jr. of 39 years; sons, Alvin (LaRanda) Matthews III, Tom (Regina) Matthews, Markus (Christee) Matthews, and Tyrell Matthews a faithful and dedicated son; grandchildren, Alyra Grace Matthews and Jayron Matthews; sister, Mavis Stevens; brothers, Charles (Pattie) Coffey and Jimmie (Mary) Robinson; brother in law, Paul (Janet) Hutchins, James (Minnie) Matthews, and Kermit (Marie) Matthews; sister in law, Denise (Edward) Howard, Dorthy (Tommy) Ballard, Juanita (Thomas) Jacoway, and Brenda Robinson; aunts, Lois Stearns and Salley McMillian; step sister, Mirada Robinson; a host of Cousins, Relatives, and Friends; special friends, Beatrice Brewster and Dean Pearson.
