Melva Jo (McCrary) Walker, age 68 of Flowood, MS, passed away peacefully on September 30, 2022. She was a graduate of Stevenson High School and raised her family in Stevenson with the love of her life, Robby. She moved to Mississippi in 2019 to be closer to her daughter Racquel. Melva Jo was known for her sweet demeanor, kindness, love, and contagious smile. Melva Jo loved Jesus and is now at peace in her heavenly body with Christ. She was preceded by her husband, Robert Walker; parents, Mary and Bayne McCrary; brothers Fred and Sam McCrary, and niece Christy McCrary. She is survived by her children, Racquel (Jackson) Ross, Robby Walker, Jason McCrary, and Jessica (Shun) McDonald; grandchildren, Jack and Hugh Ross, Bella and Delilah Walker, Mykel Meeker, Nashon and Amira McDonald, Makayla McMurrey, and great-grandchildren Lazarus Garcia and Autumn McMurrey; siblings, Linda Foster, John McCrary, Anna McCrary, and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 4 from 12-2 at The Valley Funeral Home in Stevenson, AL, and the graveside service will be at 2 PM immediately following visitation at Longacre Cemetery in Stevenson, AL. Family and close family friends are invited to FBC Stevenson for a reception following graveside.
