Princess Matthews Obituary

Princess Marie Matthews was born to Sam and Georgia Mae Matthews on May 19, 1944, in Stevenson, Alabama. She departed this life peacefully on August 27, 2022, at her home in Stevenson, Alabama. She confessed Christ as her LORD at an early age and was a faithful member of Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church in Stevenson, Alabama. She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star in Stevenson, Alabama. She was a devoted member of Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church where she served on Usher Board and the Kitchen Committee. She was one of the oldest members at Morning Star and was a recognized member for her faithful service. Even though she was unable to still attend church, she still enjoyed having morning devotion and church at her home. She is preceded in death by her father Sam Matthews, her mother Georgia Mae Washington Matthews, her son Samuel Lebron Matthews, her daughter Gwendolyn Renee Simpson and her granddaughter Mercedes Celeste Hutchins. She leaves to mourn a loving son, Arthur Will Matthews, Jr. (Kathy), a host of grand and great grandchildren, a devoted niece Bonnie Kelly and a dear friend Doris Hutchins.
