Renee Posey

Renee Lynn Posey, age 66, of Flat Rock while enjoying a mid evening nap in the warmth and comfort of her family home, succumbed to complications associated with the COVID-19 virus on January 2nd, 2021. Renee was born in Stevenson Alabama on May 15, 1954 to Mack and Lacey (Holcomb) Roberts. Renee was married to Mr. Ralph Posey of Flat Rock in Trenton Georgia in the Spring of 1974. They remained married until her passing 46 years later. Renee was a devoted wife, a dedicated mother, and a doting grandmother. She held a number of jobs throughout her life making numerous friends along the way with her smile and engaging gift of gab. Renee is survived by her husband Ralph Posey and her two sons Franklin and Shawn Posey, who are married to Ashley and Brooke Posey respectively. She has two granddaughters Pearl Owens and Harbor Posey as well as two grandsons Blake Owens and Michael Cole. She is also survived by her sister in law Joyce Hayes whom she enjoyed a lifelong close relationship with. There are a number of loved nieces and nephews who survive Mrs. Posey and celebrate her life today. Renee was preceded in death by her mother, Lacey Roberts, and her father Mack Roberts. She was also preceded in death by her three brothers; James Roberts, Ray Roberts and Leon Hayes. Services will be held at Valley Funeral Home with viewing on Thursday January 7th from noon until 8 p.m. and funeral on Friday January 8th at 2 p.m. Burial will be at the Posey Family Cemetery in Flat Rock immediately following the funeral.
