Stevie D. Branford was born February 2, 1957 to the late Eugene Branford and Reverend Betty Nicholson. He departed this life on September 5, 2020 at Huntsville Hospital. He was preceded in death by his four brothers, Elliot Eugene Branford, Carl Fredrick Branford, Samuel Nicholson, and Alphonso Branford; nephew, Roderic Branford; great nephew, Emmanuel Ezekiel. Stevie graduated from Scottsboro High School in 1975. He then, over the years, worked for Halstead and Mitchell Company (Scottsboro AL), Schwartz Industries (Huntsville, AL) and Baker’s Welding (Scottsboro, AL). He was joined in holy matrimony to Anita C. Branford on July 21, 1979. At an early age, Stevie accepted Christ and joined Horton Temple AOH Church of God under the leadership of the Late Rev. James and Betty Nicholson in Scottsboro, AL. He later moved his membership to Shiloh Primitive Baptist Church in Hollywood, AL under the leadership of the late Rev. Frankie L. Cutcher. He leaves to cherish his memories his beloved wife and caregiver Anita C. Branford (Hollywood, AL); a loving son, Telly Doss (Scottsboro, AL); two loving daughters, K’hadijah Branford and Aquanita Branford (Athens, AL) two grandchildren, Tellise Doss and Drayden Doss; four sisters, Meoldy Parrish, Cheryl Johnson, Shelia Washington, and Karen Hopkins; 3 step sisters, Linda Green, Reb (AL) Flakes, and Mary (Leon) Wellington; three brother in laws, Larry Dillard, Roy Cartwright, and Earnest Jones; three sister in laws, Shelia Patterson, Gail Wright, and Linda Jones; a host of nieces and nephews; 2 special nieces, Ja-kalynn Golden and Kendra Mitchell; special friend, Daniel Lusk. Steve was an animal lover who spent many days and hours caring for his beloved horses, “Tunker and Mann”. He also enjoyed hunting with two special nephews, Kevin Tolliver and Tavaras Tolliver.
