Trevor Merck Obituary

Trevor Merck 25 of Scottsboro, AL passed away on September 24, 2024. Trevor was born in Winter Haven Florida and moved with his family to Alabama when he was 3 years old. He graduated from Scottsboro High School and was part of the Debate Club and Writers Guild. He also competed on the Cross Country and Track teams for 6 years. After graduation, he joined the United States Marine Corps as a Forward Observer and provided fire support to infantry. He was stationed in Hawaii and also served in Japan. After four years of service in the Marines, Trevor lived in North Carolina attending college and recently moved back to Scottsboro and was attending UAH College in Huntsville. Trevor is survived by his parents, Stan and Lisa Merck, younger sister Alice Merck, older sister Holly Sanders, beloved brother-in-law Brandon Sanders, nephew Lincoln Sanders, future niece Layla Sanders, grandmother Donna Merck, as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Trevor was preceded in death by his grandfather, Stan Merck Sr. A Celebration of Life Service for friends and family will be held at Center Point Baptist Church in Scottsboro AL, on October 19th at 11:30 am. In lieu of flowers, the family would like a donation in Trevor's name made to the local no-kill animal shelter. Trevor impacted the lives of his friends and family with his kindness, unmatched wit, and humor. He will be remembered fondly and greatly missed by those who had the privilege of knowing him.
