Waymon Delano Evans was born October 4, 1959 to Mr. Clyde Evans, Jr. and the late Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Evans. Wayne was a 1977 graduate of Bridgeport High School. On July 17, 1981, he enlisted into the United States Army as a Tactical Wire Operations Specialist. There, he was motivated to continue his education. He attended the Mansfield Technical College in San Antonio, Texas. He graduated from St. Phillips Community College with a degree in Medical Technology-Coding and Data Entry. Wayne as his friends affectionately called him, was an avid outdoors man. He kept his fishing and hunting license up to date and ready at all times. Always talking about going to the Atlanta Falcon Games (win or lose), Smoking BBQ’s, and enjoying life with family and friends. A brisket connoisseur was his claim. Cooking was another of his many passions. His food will definitely be missed. Waymon was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Sinquita Starlet Evans and his mother, Mrs. Mary Evans. He leaves to continue his legacy and cherish his memory his father, Clyde Evans, Jr.; son, Richard Waymon Evans; daughter, Sade Kuykendall; sisters, Paula Evans of New Orleans, LA and Pamela Bolton of Stone Mountain, Georgia; a devoted and loyal brother, Raymond (Betsy) Evans of Stevenson, Alabama; nephews, Raymond White, Stephen Allison, and Delvin Dennis; niece, Tashya Dennis; grandchildren, Malachi Kuykendall and Daniel Davis; two great nieces, Alexandrya Dennis and Regan Clark; a bonus brother and best friend, Mike Chapman. Funeral services were held on Friday July 5, 2024 at 2 PM from the Valley Funeral Home Chapel in Stevenson AL and the burial was in the Chattanooga National Cemetery on July 9, 2024.
