Zenith Lynne McClendon

Lynne was 71 years young at the time of  her death on May 10, 2015 she resided in Navarre, Florida. She was in the care of Covenant Hospice that allowed her to stay in her home overlooking the Santa Rosa Sound and the Gulf of Mexico in Navarre, Florida. She passed away after a long illness and rapid decline.

Lynne was born on September 1, 1943 in Plant City, Florida. She was the daughter of Marjorie and Robert Prescott, both deceased. She was married to William “Bill” King McClendon Jr., deceased, on September 10, 1960 in Tampa, Florida. She was a graduate of Jefferson High School in Tampa, Florida and attended Northeast Community College. She was a housewife and mother. She was a long time resident of Hollywood, Alabama. She loved reading and keeping up with her friends and special projects i.e. childhood cancer via Facebook. She was a caring friend and mother.

Lynne is survived by her daughter Tammy McClendon, her daughter and son-in-law Tanya and Randall Barbee, her daughter and son-in-law Melonie and Alex King, and her son and daughter-in-law Billy and Jane McClendon. Her grandchildren are Zack Barbee, Dylan Barbee, Nick King, Darcy McClendon, and Josie McClendon.

Visitation will be held at Valley Funeral Home in Stevenson, Alabama on Wednesday May 13, 2015 from 6-8 pm.  The funeral service will be held at Valley Funeral Home on Thursday May 14, 2015 at 3 pm with interment at Cumberland Cemetery.  Donations to Covenant Hospice in Fort Walton Beach, Florida can be made in lieu of flowers.

Lynne, when asked to describe her journey here on this earth, while being with all of her loved ones, said, “I've had the time of my life!”
