Now that the service is over and all the commotion is done, and an eerie silence seems to hang in the air, it is then that I pray the Lord's presence be made well known unto you, the family. For it is in the moments it seems everyone has gone and left you alone that the Lord shows himself all the more on your behalf. Let him comfort you when no one else can. Remember him in all you say and do, and he will heal your broken hearts. He is your strength and stronghold and he is faithful to keep what he has promised you.

We thank God for the life of our dear brother, Lou. Over the last week, especially the last two weeks, Hutch and I have talked about the good times and precious memories we've shared. I first met Lou when he visited us in New York during the 1980's. He visited us several times when we lived in New York. Our familiy times together--reunions, weddings, Depot Days, etc.--seemed really complete when he was with us. I'll always remember him saying, " I talk to the man (God Almighty) upstairs every morning." We thank God for the life and legacy of Louis R. Hutchins. Bobbie Oxendine-Hutchins, Sister-in-law

My sympathy to all of Lou's family. Lou and I had not spoken for over 45 years until this past February. He and I were able to recall several things from our time together in high school, especially the sports things. He was surprised to learn that I viewed him as my football hero back in the good old days. Truth is, I still do view him that way. Just like our high school days, Lou was easy to talk to and I came away from that conversation knowing that I had rekindled a long lost friendship. I'm sorry we missed all of those years. Rest in peace...

Family, it is the little things, the small everyday occurrences that we will remember. His laugh, his stories, his smile. Uncle Lou is now at rest and we will truly miss him. We love him but let us not forget, God loves him more.
